A good homemade shampoo recipe?

I have been using baking soda and water (1 Tbsp baking soda to 1 cup water) for almost a year now and I *love* my hair. For rinse, I use 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar to 1 cup water. Rinse in between and after the vinegar. My hair stays clean longer, never snarls and is very soft and shiny. I would recommend this to anyone!

Home made laundry detergent without borax?

Anyone have any recipes and instructions for home made laundry detergent made with out borax? Also, home made softeners? I herd vinegar works good, I just do not like the smell! Any other tips or ideas?!

What Tablet is Right for me?

For starters, I really don't *need* one, I actually need a navigation GPS. However, the idea of a touchscreen tablet in my car is pretty cool to me. I have an iPod Touch, which I love, and wanna keep for my music. But if I can find a good tablet (not forking over $400-$900 for an iPad or Xoom), that I can use for video/movie playback & navigation, that would be great. I saw the Google Android 2.2 & ViewPoint and others...any suggestions people?

What do you do on the 4th of July?

I live near a beach, so I usually go there around 11 and stay until the night drunk all day. Everything is within walking distance and a lot of conservative friends enjoy a beer. The liberals surf and smoke pot. It's a great day of unity and peace, until the drunks stab each other outside mcdonalds.

Is homemade laundry detergent garden safe?

I'm Planning on routing grey water from the washer to the lawn. I currently make my own laundry detergent (washing soda, borax, and zote). Is this detergent garden safe or do I need to have a grey water filter? I'm also concerned about the health of my small chicken flock that will be free ranging in the same area as the grey water disposal.
