How to kill ants with borax?

k i finally have a box of borax "20 mule team" and i made the bait with white/brown sugar, water and the borax but the problem is the ants dont even go near it!!! can sum1 plzz tell me the amount of ingredients i need to put plzz use cups or table spoon cuz i dont get when ppl say "parts"
