HELP! My dog had Demo Mange and she is not getting Better!?

You need to quit with the crazy home remedies for one - none of them work unless you consider them killing your dog as getting rid of the problem! I know you are probably at your wits end and I know, I have been there and I have worked in the veterinary field for a very long time. Demodex can be very hard to treat especially if your dog has an immune disease of some kind, which is extremely likely given everything you have said. Some veterinarians have mistakenly used steriods when treating secondary skin infections while still treating for demodex - if you were also using a steriod during ivermectin treatments you were doing no good as the steroids suppress the immune system further actually making the demodex worse. The only breeds that have Ivermectin sensitivity (usually) are Collie type breeds. It is more likely that just the MITABAN dips were causing the illness your dog was having during the extensive treatment. I would try the Ivermectin by itself and see how that affects your dog. Your dog really needs to be on Ivermectin treatment daily until you have two (2) NEGATIVE skin tests. (Your dog needs to see the vet on a monthly basis to have these tests done). Because bulldogs also tend to have severe allergies if your dog has developed any secondary skin infections due to allergies it needs to be on antibiotics as well. Demodex can take up to 4 months to treat and sometimes even longer depending on how many other skin issues you have along the way. Stress can cause setbacks and should be avoided. Since surgical procedures put a dent in the immune system you are right in not having her spayed or the cherry eye removed until her skin has cleared up. She needs to have a balanced diet so I'm not sure what you mean by "human grade" but she needs to be on a higher end dog food (you know, the expensive ones). Advantage Multi is a heartworm/flea medication that should be applied monthly - it also helps to treat demodex. I know you are using ivermectin daily - it will not interfere and will not overdose your dog on heartworm medication - I apply it to my dog every 3 weeks. Do not give up. Talk to your veterinarian about having your dog tested for immune system disorders. My dog is affected and once diagnosed treatment was a lot easier because we knew what we were dealing with. My dog is 7 now and she has been on ivermectin daily since she was 3 years old. Her dose had to be adjusted to what worked for her. She only gets the vaccinations required by law as having them knocks her immune system down. She is bathed every 2 weeks with a 1% Ketaconozole Shampoo and NEVER goes outside our home or yard unless she's going to the vet for a needed visit. If she gets too hot she has flare ups also so she stays inside all the time and only goes out in mild weather or in the early morning or evening hours. My dog has NEVER had a negative demodex test. They are always present as her immune system can not get rid of them. I have been told that immune system disorders are not common. I'm just explaining my experience. In the veterinary world an English BullDog is called the "Trust Fund Dog" - because you will use it up if you have one. If she is your third BullDog and you have not had problems before now - you need to go buy a lottery ticket because you are LUCKY! The mitaban dips made my dog extremely sick too and were stopped. I also give my dog Missing Link daily - a dietary supplement - to help her immune system. Sorry it's so long.

I have been using baking soda and water (1 Tbsp baking soda to 1 cup water) for almost a year now and I *love* my hair. For rinse, I use 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar to 1 cup water. Rinse in between and after the vinegar. My hair stays clean longer, never snarls and is very soft and shiny. I would recommend this to anyone!

Any suggestions for flea infestation?

I have a major flea infestation in my apt. It started right after my dog was put down (he was on flea preventative) and I've been using multiple treatments for my apt for the last 6 wks. I've fogged 4x, used pesticide spray for fleas, Hartz flea powder for carpet, Pest Control, Borax w/ washings and carpet, Deet sprayed on clothing and Dawn put in shallow dish w/ water w/ light shining on it. I've also washed my clothes/bedding, etc., MULTIPLE times in hot water, dryer and iron. None of this has worked. The fleas are everywhere - oven, shelves, frig, piano, speakers, clothing, car, etc. I've bagged clothing, etc., w/ no relief. I've vacuumed every day (many hours - 10+ sometimes) w/ throwing bag away outside plus putting 1/2 flea collar in bag but I can't seem to get a ahead - even vaccuming brings more out. Can anyone suggest anything new? I feel like I've tried everything and I don't want to lose my apt. I am also about to go crazy! Please help!

its been months since ive gotten a good nights sleep. it takes me forever to fall asleep. im 15 and everytime i close my eyes to go to sleep thoughts just race through my head like crazy! i start thinking of every stressfull think in my life there is! family issues, friend issues (there have been alot latley.) anyways im up till the am's every night. and once i do fall asleep i have the worst nightmares ever..mostly about losing people i love and stuff like that.i wake up and my eyes are wet from crying in my sleep. its not like depression because when im awake im a normal, happy (mostly), teenager. i just cant stand nightime because of these problems. i also feel bad because my bf feels bad when he falls asleep and he knows i cant so he stays on the phone with me untill i fall asleep sometimes and he tells me to call him when i have nightmares.. (usually i dont cuz i dont like to wake him). its causing alot of stress on me and i cant even handle it anymore. i dont want to ask my mom or dad to take me to the doctors for a sleeping prescription because they would think im over reacting and blame it on caffine. i guess this kinda all started when my bestfriend stabbed me in the back....but i dont see why tht would make me not be able to sleep. please i nceed advie

So, when I was 11 I had these dreams for about a month straight, every night to the point where I wouldn't sleep for days because I was so scared of them. There's really no way to explain them, but... OK, so when I fall asleep, I heard a strange noise, like complete silence but with sort of nails against chalkboard, like my ears are going to burst. Then, I open my eyes in the dream, and I'm usually laying excactly where I fell asleep. Sometime's I'll see a scary tall shadow standing at the foot of my bed, and sometimes I'll see nothing but feel like someone going to pop out and stab me. ._. I can't move in these dreams, not at all. I've tried moving, but it hurts and it's pretty much impossible. My parents tell me I talk in these dreams and make moaning noises, and I always wake up with my heart racing and one time I woke up and couldn't breathe and almost had to be rushed to the E.R. In these dreams, I feel like I can barely breath. I try to breath regular, but I can't. It's so hard. I try to just close my eyes and drift into another sleep in these dreams, but the irritating noise and odd feeling in the atmosphere in the dream always deter me. I'm 13 and I'm starting to get these dreams again. I can wake up voluntarily from these dreams by squeezing my eyes as tight as I can in the dream and then opening them. When I was 11, I remember reading something about these dreams, a wife writing about her husband always having the same types of dreams I'm having. He couldn't move in the dream, he was scared in the dream, and he woke up with a fast heart and sometimes couldn't breath. These dreams are extremely scary... you can't feel what I'm talking about unless you have one. It's one of the scariest things ever. It feels like your a tiny rabbit with starving wolves behind every tree while you're in a forest. I'm so scared of them, but I try to think of other things before I fall into sleep but they always pop up. I have always had the weirdest dreams, but these are just plain odd and scary. Help?

How should I go about attacking my flea problem?

One of my dog's is severely allergic to fleas. As most of you probably know spot-on isn't enough because I need to treat the whole house. I have been contemplating a natural attack vs. chemical attack. The problem with natural eradication methods is that I am currently not living alone and the house is very very cluttered so it would be hard to move everything to place borax/DE every week. I'm like you I wouldn't dare as a woman ever propose to a man. It's not practical only because of tradition that I have been brought up on. I know there are several woman out there who have proposed to their man and the man said yes. I just can't see myself doing that. I'm struggling with a philosophical theory. I am neither judge nor jury. I do not wish to pass judgement on others. How then, can I view the wrong-doing in others' actions without passing judgement? Do I have to accept everything as permitted and abolish every concept of right and wrong I've ever been taught? If I do that, then I lack the potential to help victims of wrong-doing. If I judge an action as wrong, though, then I take myself and my viewpoint as superior to that person, and therefore use my self-proclaimed superiority to justify intervening in said wrong-doing. I think the word "equality" needs to be strictly defined in order for this topic to be resolved... What does everyone else think? Is passing judgement acceptable in the world we live in? We do it every day, but does it help or hurt our interactions with the rest of the human race? Jesus and Buddha both taught that we should love every person in an equal, unbiased manner, including ourselves. If I do exactly that, then I will in no way be able to strike down another person, regardless of who or what they may endanger. It means that I would have to love serial killers and rapists as much as I love my own family simply because they are human. I recently crashed my bike and my ribs feel like they are stabbing my lungs!?

I was riding my bike and my tire siezed up and stopped randomly, my bike went forward and i fell on the edge of my handel bar... My handel bar stabbed me in the chest and i could barely breath for like 5 minutes... i can breath now but my chest hurts so much it feels like my ribs are puncturing my lungs... Make a paste out of the flour and tear the news paper in thin strips and let soak until they get good and wet then you can mold them into animal shapes or if you have a round balloon, blow it up and start to put the paper mache around the balloon then keep cris crossing the strips and build it up to about a sixteenth of an inch and let dry and once it is dry stick a pin through it to bust the balloon then cut it in half and you have two bowls that you can paint and decorate.Once you have painted it and it is dry then varnish them and they will last for a really long time . You can put fruit in them or whatever you want .

I figure the only reason a person would fight for the prohibition of same sex marriage would be to have the viewpoint that homosexuality is a personal choice as opposed to an innate quality. Why would God cause confusion in His true channel by this means? He wouldn't. If the Watchtower was truly the only way to God then none of this would be of discussion. None of these answers are sufficient. The JW seem to think all churches teach "its God's mystery" when they cannot answer (which btw I have not heard in a sermon) a scriptural question. The answer given for failed prophecy by the Watchtower is in the exact vein of thought. Just adjust your thinking? No way would a JW or anyone accept that is a real answer.

Could I be pregnant? Abnormal period?

Ok, I am 29 - not a 14 yo with no clue - no offense. I have had a lot of problems with my menstruation over the years and have had a lot of tests to rule out PCOS etc. My periods are irregular - they come when they want to. Sometimes I can go 10 weeks between cycles. This used to concern me but not anymore - they come when they come. They are usually very heavy and extremely painful. I can't move on the 1st day and have been in hospital because of it. This time I am in pain but it is different. The pain is more an ache than a stab and my periods - well they are almost nonexistent. I have 'spotted' for 6 days now - completely out of the 'norm' for me. I have always had extremely heavy flow and this is concerning. I have been told that it is unlikely (not impossibly though) that I would get pregnant without IVF so my partner and I don't use contraceptive - he doesn't ejaculate inside me but that's it..... So, is there a chance that I have defied the odds and am pregnant or could this be something else? I don't want to have a pregnancy test and suffer the horrible disappointment that I have had in the past unless I really have to.....

Yeah, actually it does. You make a few simple mistakes like losing an Ipod or forgetting to do something and parents or anyone else label you as irresponsible or can't be trusted. When your a teen, it's normal to make mistakes and adults don't realize that it's sometimes really hard to balance life with school and friends and family and homework and more school. Adults don't remember that it's not all fun and easy being a teen and were still growing and make mistakes but it doesn't necessarily label us as "teens who disappoint us and constantly mess up and make bad choices in life", 'cause in real life we mess up, it's not all perfect. Help with bad sickness and really hurtful rib pain!!!?

On Tuesday I was just about to go to sleep when I had rib pain which was so painful I couldn't move then from it has gotten worse and worse except now I constantly feel sick and last night I was hanging over the toilet waiting to be sick but since I hadn't eaten properly for the last two days I couldn't do anything about it. I have lost my apatite and really find it hard to even walk around my house. I have just lay in bed and drank lots of water with a hot water bottle on me and I feel even worse. I have taken paracetamol, pepto-bismol and have just been resting. I have no idea what i have done but all i can say is the pain is like someone is pressing down on me and theres a bad aching feeling making me bend forward. And theres a stabbing pain in the middle of my ribs, I have been cleaning a lot recently and don't know if i have pulled something however, i do not remember feeling like i had. I have just come off diannete ( the pill ) and roaccutane ( for my skin ). Any suggestions of what it could be? Or how I did it? Any similar problems? Unexplained wrist pain?

This morning I when i went to work I began to fell a pain in my wrist. It's on the outside of my wrist and can be felt from just below my pinky finger to about an inch below my wrist. Most of the pain is centered on the wrist itself. I don't have a constant pain it's more like a sharp stabbing sensation when I twist it or move my wrist while grabbing something. Also trying to grab something that was wide, while I had my palm facing down was quite painful. I haven't had any type of injury recently, outwardly it looks fine(no bruising or anything like that), and yesterday it was fine.

Sharp stabbing pain in back when breathing deeply?

It happens at random times, not often but I never know when it's going to happen. I'll be breathing and I'll feel a pain in my ribs or back. It's usually when I take deep breaths and I have to tell myself not to do that because it causes pain. It eventually goes away (I think this is for the rib ones). Right now, I felt that pain when breathing deep, told myself it would go away and right as I got off the couch, pain shot through my back. It felt very painful and almost like I was paralyzed.. I couldn't move my back and it was hard to talk because of the pain. I think this has only happened once before while I was sleeping. These "back" ones are longer lasting and more painful than the rib ones. Not too sure what is causing this or if it's a big problem. Does anyone know?

How to get rid of carpenter ants?

I have a large carpenter ant nest inside my house, originally they seemed to avoid coming in, mainly because I blocked off there entrances. But yesterday they dug two new entrances into my house and now I see them everywhere. the new entrances are now blocked off and I'm killing them whenever I see them but the problem is this, I have a terrible phobia of ants and this large nest isn't helping. Blocking off the new entrances is only a short time fix because they'll probably just dig a new entrance later this summer. Really horrible never ending leg pain?

2 days ago my leg started to hurt really bad after i got out of the shower, yesterday is was bad. it literally feels like someone is stabbing my thigh over and over with something and my friend had to help me down my stairs. Today at certain times it has been unbearable! i went to the doctor and she said my leg felt really tight and she said it's just sore muscles and suggested certain stretches to help it. i went home and did them and i was stuck on the floor for 10 minutes until someone could help me move to my room. now when i lay down it doesn't go away it still stays and i have no idea what this could be! Canker sores after tooth extracted?

I had my second to last top molar pulled the other day due to root resorption. I am scheduled for an implant in 2 weeks. It didn't hurt one bit. The next morning I was a little swollen, and there was a little pain where the noNovocaineas injected, but nothing bad. Now, today, the 3rd day, I have this horrible pain, but its not from where the tooth was pulled...I developed these canker sores on the tops of my gums above where the tooth was pulled, but not right next to the extraction site, at the very top of my gums, where it joins my cheek, and there's about 2 or 3 of them. I get them every now and them from trauma to my gums (like if I slip brushing, or stab myself with something I eat-like potato chips, etc) But that's not the case here...I think maybe the dentist's instruments may have done this? They didnt mention that they slipped or that I would develop canker sores. It hurts really bad...but not from the extraction. Is this normal, and what can I do to help them heal faster?

The pattern of abusive behavior began again, and reckless behavior on his part...but not until I started to show that I was carrying a child. By the time our second son was two months old I called the police and had him arrested for one of the many abusive inciddents. And I knew that I had made the right choice. I was a single mother of two infants for almost a year, when I met my current husband. He had 6 children from a previous marriage so he enjoyed the babies. It took almost too much time and energy to blend our families, or even to form a deeply rooted bond between the two of us (even though he is an amazing man) and I just wrote it off to being so hurt by Jay. It's been over three years since I've seen Jay's face, heard his voice, even asked about him, but when I close my eyes at night it's his face that I dream about. First off, I should tell you that I'm currently 14 years of age, and I'm turning 15 this month, and that I need some help. I feel as if I'm going to go insane. My nephew is 5 years old and out of control. He's my brothers son and I love him to death. I have a really small dog and when ever he comes to my house he tortures my dog. Since God describes Himself as a tender Father, Jesus describes Him as merciful...until we know His true character it would follow we cannot have a relationship with Him. It's more than simply being plucked out of hell. It's more to do with living inside a relationship of love and knowing that he wants that relationship even more than we do. Seems that some people claim to love God or to know Him but don't really understand the true nature of His character. Bottom line...saving faith would of necessity involve a relationship. Therefore it would be impossible to have saving faith and yet not love Him. Thankfully he is very patient with our distortions and will do much to untwist whatever distortions are in our minds. That also is due to His kindness.

On Tuesday I was just about to go to sleep when I had rib pain which was so painful I couldn't move then from it has gotten worse and worse except now I constantly feel sick and last night I was hanging over the toilet waiting to be sick but since I hadn't eaten properly for the last two days I couldn't do anything about it. Im a 15 yr old female, and Ive never really felt like there was something or anything wrong with me. The last couple of months, I've been depressed and having what I think is "Anxiety". I recently was forced to move away from all my friends to another state and start a new school, When I first moved here I was having terrible headaches(stabbing pain in my head, it felt like something was moving or growing!)and was seriously considering that I had a brain tumor or something, and I was even afraid to fall to sleep at night because I thought that I might not wake up. (my step dad was forcibly removed from our home,((long story)) so we had to move here to be closer to family, thats what i thought was causing the stress...?) after a while the heaches had gone away, but Now Ive been having different headaches that have been making it difficult to do anything, anymore. My eyes hurt from light(even something thts not very bright) my head hurt worse if one of my brothers or sisters were arguing or screaming at eachother......I had a very short fuse, and would go off on anybody....well I finally convinced my mom to take me to the ER....I had a C.A.T. scan and they said there was nothing wrong, they gave me a prescription for Tylenol/codeine...and sent me on my way. The pills werent really doing anything, except taking away the pain from that specific spot, and moving it to another. Now, about 2 or 3 weeks later, I'm starting to having Jabbing pains in my heart, coming from under neath of my heart, it feels like....(Ive had these before in recent months, my pediatrician said they were growing pains or something...?)....sometimes at night I get freezing cold, my teeth chatter and my muscles in my thighs shake, during the headaches I get pains in my neck, or the bottom of my spine, my ears wont "Pop", and it feels like something's pulling at the back of my eyes, making them Hurt. But right now, im having a pain in my temple, and the ear on that side(left) hurts and feels like a strong ear infection coming on, my stomch also feels weird.....I've also been "Panicky" thinking about death, or how I might die at any second....idk, is there anyone who can tell me whats wrong with me?? My friends thinks its a sinus infection or something, but im not sure....(oh and ive also been having weird pain or kinda throbbing on both sides of my jaw bone, its not that painful but now thats got me deathly afraid and thinking i have LOCK JAW or something...) everyone around me calling me a drama queen and saying i'm just lying for attention is not really helping the situation.....I just sit alone and cry all the time because i don't know whats wrong with me......Can someone tell me????Im srry this is so long...:\

What do you do when your dog is being eaten by mange and wont eat any food and is so weak she cant stand up ?

I too quite the tumble last night and hit my ankle really hard and it REALLY hurts and is a little swollen. I am pretty sure that borax is a solid so it must be mixed with a solution to become aqueous. If the problem is a double replacement problem than you are trying to form a compound by mixing it with HCl. If solid borax got into this it could taint it. You need the test tube to be dry so water doesn't mix with either compound, and you obviously don't want to leave HCl open.

What is the best way to completely remove Mange?

Borax and peroxide is NOT a good solution for mange and can seriously irritate and damage your dogs' skin and worsen the problem. Why would you think that applying a caustic solution to a living animal was a good idea? The dogs need to be taken to the VET for appropriate treatment. There is more than one type of mange. The dogs will need to be treated with a proper miticide (repeatedly), the accompanying skin infection needs to be treated with antibiotics, the irritation soothed with medicated shampoos or creams, and if it's demodectic mange, further tests will likely be needed to further isolate the cause (as demodectic mange almost always indicates an underlying health issue as well). I treated my dog with Advantage 2 four days ago and last night I found a live flea on her! Advantage 2 says it kills fleas, larva, eggs and ticks. Bad headache for almost 3 weeks?

Alright, im a 15 yr old girl... so ive had this really bad headache for just about 3 weeks, its constant, from the moment i wake up to the moment i fall asleep, ive woken up from it a few times too. when i have a headache i take a tylonal and it goes away.. with this.. im taking 2 tylonal and 2 ibruprofen every 4 hours.. and it doesnt help very much, it even doesnt help at all most of the time. the pain is in the lower back of my head. mostly to the left, at times it feels like someones stabbing me with a knife there. i drink water very often, and j havent changed my diet at all in the past 3 to 4 weeks. ive already gone to the doctors and they said if it gets worse or meds arent working to come back,,, that was a wek ago. and it has gotten worse and meds are NOT working. i come to think is a tension headache.. although im starting to think its not. im not trying to think of the worst. any answers or solutions to this? sorry for all the reading! thanks tons! -Emily

Umm as silly as you may find me... I think i have these weird moments when ive felt ive been there and done that event before. It freaks me out. Hi. I'm studying a master degree in advanced architecture and I would like to make a robot that staples theads inside a tank filled with water in order to have some interesting floating curved theads (like catenary structures but floating instead of hanging). Then, what I'm going to go is to warm that water, put some borax powder on it and crystalize the floating treads, keeping them with the floating shape they got.
